PROGRAMS

PARENT TODDLER 15 mos. - 30 mos.

As a child grows and develops physically, his cognitive and psychological development naturally follows. The Parent-Toddler program is designed to address physical, social, emotionsl and cognitive needs of the age group. The program also serves as an introduction to Montessori methods and philosophy for the parents. The prepared environment "calls" to the child, inviting hin or her to choose an activity which appeals to his or her individual needs and interests. Everything in the environment is intended to be touched by the child.

TODDLER 18 mos. - 3 years

The Toddler program is designed to encourage and assist the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of children 18 months through the 3rd year of life. The specially prepared Montessori Toddler environment is constructed to enable the child to function independently. Low shelves and child-sized furniture and materials encourage exploration and manipulation. Everything within the environment invites and encourages a child's exploration. Through successful experiance in the classroom, the toddler acquires a positive attitude towards self and others.

PREPRIMARY 3 - 6 years

The Preprimary environment provides Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Physical Geography, History, Science and Nature, Cultural Awareness, Arts and Crafts, Music and Movement, and Cooking and Nutrition excercises and activities. The social, emotional, and intellectual development of each individual child is addressed within the multi-aged community of the classroom.
